Locating Utility With Electromagnetic Scanning Wand
East Coast Underground LLC locates private utilities at residential and commercial sites throughout North and South Carolina. Utility location is the process of identifying and labeling utility mains that are underground. These mains may include lines for various elements.
Major oil and gas pipelines, national defense communication lines, mass transit, rail and road tunnels also compete for space underground in some locations.
GPR — Ground Penetrating Radar for Underground Utilities
We use GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) to locate your 'harder to find' buried underground utilities. It is especially ideal for locating utilities that are encased in plastic pipes.
GPR will x-ray the ground and produce a detailed image of what is underneath. Let us provide your GPR survey. For more information on our GPR utility locating practices, please feel free to contact us.
What We Offer
East Coast Underground LLC offers private utility locating with the utiliazation of ground penetrating radar soft dig hydrovac excavation services to expose your underground utilities or other things you may want to locate before you dig. Hydro excavation is the process of removing or moving soil with pressurized water with an excavation vacuum. This allows for a non-destructive and more accurate way to excavate soil and locate underground utilities and works excellent for congested area excavation. The best part of hydrovac excavation is that no hand digging is required to put 'eyes on' your utilities.
Hydro excavation equipment combines high-pressure water and an air vacuum. This excavation vacuum system cuts through the soils and breaks it up. The vacuum then lifts the slurry from the excavation area. The debris is transferred to a debris tank.
Colored Markings for Utility Location
When our team locates your underground utilities, we paint the ground with the color corresponding to the found utility on the same location. We also insert flags into the ground of the corresponding color, making the utility location more prominent. Upon completing your utility locating project, we provide our customers with a standard sketch diagram showing the utility locations. Sketch diagrams also have colored markings corresponding with each utility type.
